What is Health & Wellness Coaching?

If you are someone looking for long-lasting change that promotes your health & well-being, then you have come to the right place.

Coaching is unlocking a person's potential through a solutions-focused, collaborative process whereby a coach facilitates self-directed learning and goal-attainment.

In health & wellness coaching, the primary or secondary goals are health and wellness related i.e. improving sleep quality, losing weight, balancing work and self-care, etc. Health and wellness coaches respectfully and non-judgmentally partner with clients who are ready for self-directed change. Coaches empower their clients and believe in their capacity for change (National Board for Health & Wellness Coaches).

How does it work?

Working with a coach can help you find your own answers through effective empowerment.

Health and wellness coaching will prepare you to lead your life to its fullest through healthy lifestyle, dietary, and motivational changes. Guiding you towards effective behavior change, your health and wellness coach supports your goal setting and adoption of healthy lifestyle choices to help you lead a full and vibrant life not only free of disease, but one of optimal wellness (American Fitness Professionals of America).

How do I know if I need a Health & Wellness Coach?

If your primary or secondary goal/s includes anything related to health and wellness and you’re having trouble staying motivated or achieving your goals on your own, then it may be time to consider talking to a coach. Your physician may recommend a health and wellness coach out of medical necessity or you may just need a little extra push to lose that last 5 pounds. Whatever your specific goal may be, if you desire to lengthen your life and improve your quality of life, then health and wellness coaching may be right for you.

How do I find the right coach for me?

Each client and coach work together uniquely as a pair. The only way to find out if coaching is right for you, is to talk with a coach and see if you’re a match. Finding the right coach can be a little bit like dating. Feel free to have conversations with a few different coaches before choosing who to work with. Coaches also choose who they work with and who they don’t. The agreement to work together should be a mutual decision.
